I got caught stealing in penneys 2 cosmetic items that both of them together cost 12 euros. I know i never should have done this and i must face the consequences. I feel myself **** and i am really worried about what gonna happens.

It is my first offence and wont be other again in my whole life for sure. Police asked me name, address, phone to contact and so on, so the same did security penneys staff.

I wasnt asked to sign any paper and they didnt bring me to garda station. Police told me i didnt need to pay to go cause it was my first offence. He said if i get caught stealing again i would have to pay auction and that i can not come in into this shop anymore. Police man said his boss will call me for an appoitment, i did ask if he knew when or the day that happened that was yesterday and he said he doesnt know that they are too busy.

I felt the talk treat to me was really bad anyways.

Can anyone pls say what will happens next ? will penneys bring me to the courts ? what i may be expecting from the appoitment with the garda ?

Pls i know i have done this and i feel very bad, will somebody tell me anything ?

Most likely nothing it was a very small amount and fact you didnt get brought down to the station was a good chance they let you away with it this time asking for your details is just for future reference in case you get caught again.
Advice is to stay clear of the shop if security see you there again they will report into the guards and other security in the area to let them no your around and to keep an eye on you so you would have alot of people looking at you.

Quite possibly you will never be called.

If you are called, and if you are invited to sign an admission, decline to do so until you have had a chance to talk to a solicitor about the implications and consequences for you if you do sign.

You can predict how much your house is going to be worth that you haven't bought and wont do so for 4 years ??? Well fair f*cks to you. I'd think with skills like that you might be able to afford a better house than one thats worth 350k !!

While sound, this isn't exactly fantastic advise, if the OP refuses to sign an adult caution form they will be charged and brought to Court for the offence.

The adult caution system was set up for people like the op, people who make a mistake, so they may not suffer for one bad decision. In order for the op to qualify for the adult caution they must admit their guilt.

OP if you want to talk to a solicitor do so before you meet the inspector, as you'll only get one chance to accept the caution.

Some companies will take civil cases against shoplifters to claim the security costs. Not all do. So I'm afraid I can't answer that question.

I'd say you will hear from the inspector, you'll be invited into the station to meet him/her. The inspector will go through a form which the Garda you were dealing with will have filled in. He will talk through what happened and tell you what the consequences will be if you re-offend. You sign the form to say you're accepting the caution.

Thats it. If you never get into trouble again you'll never hear anymore about it.

Keep you head down and take it as a lesson learned. I'd say you've probably dodged the bullet at this stage.
