Duplicate displays

    In appearance of your display , "Duplicate my desktop on all displays (mirrored)" is ticked, as I want display on laptop and TV via VGA cable,
    but in the display settings I tried different options but can't seem to find the correct option that will allow me to have desktop on both screens as same time, it seem to be one or the other or if on one screen then other screen has just back ground, Vista, cheers
