ó thaobh + de

    Is it necessary to put 'de' at the end of a sentence when using 'ó thaobh' to mean regarding? I don't understand the syntax of this!

    Mar shampla "ó thaobh ríme agus meadarachta de" = regarding rhyme and metre

    What is the literal meaning of the underlined words?

    The underlined words basically mean 'in terms of'. I've an idea that 'ó thaobh' can used with or without 'de' at the end, though I'm not completely sure. Someone else may be able to confirm.

    You could argue that there's a subtle difference in meaning between the two (including/not including de), but in my view, they're virtually identical, and correct either way.
