Am drivin demented, we can only use smokeless coal in our stove (Firewarm brand) ok I could probably mix in a bag of regular coal into the smokeless but it's not great for the stove.

Can anyone recommend a brand of smokeless coal that gives out good heat?

There's no problem with the stove itself of the chimney.

Turf/logs etc. aren't great logs tend to leave a deposit (hard to get well dry/seasoned logs and turf doesn't give out much heat either.

    Arigna Ecobrite
    Mcpartland fuels Eco glo

They are the two best smokeless coals there are.....
Trust me after burning everything imaginable in my stove for the last 6 years these are the best
Ecobrite gives the best heat and eco glo will burn for longer.

Thanks for that I see on our coalmans list he has Ecobrite it doesn't mention if it's Arigna will double check if it's the same thing. No heat at all out of the stove tonight, well a bit but it should be roasting am thinking maybe the chimney could do with another clean out just to give it a bit of a draw. But it really should be warming the radiators, most of the rads are cold. Probably a combination of both. Only cleaned the chimney just before xmas.

1- How do you light your stove?

2- how do you have the air controls set after the fire gets going?

3- Do you fill the firebox with fuel?
