    Hi all,

Been to Florida many times with my family, however this is the first time I'll venture over with my friends, maybe 3 of us in total. Now I've always flown into MCO and Sanford once, nearly always had a stop off.

AL are flying over May 28th - Jun 11th for about €800 in total return, with a stop off in JFK, of about two hours.

Then I look on GoHop, and saw something that seemed too good to be true. Fly from DUB to LGW, the LGW to MCO and back, with a 2 hour stopover in LGW going over and a 7 hour stopover in LGW coming back for €460.

This saving is excellent and would pay for my flexi tickets for Wet n Wild, Universal, IOA and Sea World and accommodation on I drive too.

Perhaps other people may be interested in this, so thought i'd share it!

To be honest I'd pay the extra (although not any price) to clear customs & immigration here rather than in MCO which could take another couple of hours & I don't think I could hack the seven hours in Gatwick on the way back but I'd be travelling with kids so maybe that makes a difference. Flights for the four of us indirect, SNN via Newark with 2 & 3 hour layovers were €2320 or €580 which is ok'ish

For €460 all-in, that's pretty good! The 7hr wait is a bit of a killer, but with a few of ye, will be fine, and ye wouldn't see the first few hours going anyway. You might get on on earlier flight too (thou I have no idea if that means you have to pick up your luggage and then risk been stuck with it). Enjoy!

Yeah, in the meantime I've actually found it from here to LGW then LGW to MCO return with Airport and Hotel pickup for €510, which includes a €10 booking fee too! No brainer really.

Saves the money on a taxi, although would probably work out very similar between 2-3 of us anyway.

The newly found flights are with AA out of Gatwick also, shorter stops too so all in all seems more appealing.

missus did the LGW last year, she said the UK border people were particulary nasty to them, and the process was very tedious (you wouldn't this if it was us clearance but it was just the regular check, she said she would not do it again cos of them, apart from that i booked those flights for her think it was through ebookers or expedia and they were similar to your booking however i was able to get them DUB-LGW-MCO out and back they did MCO-ORD-DUB for the same money ,so check that out as possibility 2hr stopover coming back.

i'm flying in April DUB-ATL-MCO same coming back, less than 2hrs wait each way, with 5 nights hotel, €547 each. flights listed as KLM but they are operated by Delta

Yeah, doesn't bother me too much. Have been through LGW a few times and found it rather pleasant. Of course experiences vary though. Not really too fussed, I'll be too excited at the thought of being on International Dr with a lovely 2 weeks ahead of me :D

    Enough to make anybody happy!
