How far are u looking to lamp out to and what price range?

The m7r is a bit better than the p7 and is rechargeable.. The p7 eats batteries. unless your only using it for taking the shot for a few seconds.
The they are grand on a rimfire for around 100 yards but you'd want a bigger lamp for scanning longer ranges.

P7 is only good for rimfire or shotgun, pressure switch is handy on the shotgun but its a pain on a rifle.

The button switch is prone to breaking, have to send mine back to the manufacturer.

I thought the x7r had about twice as many lumens as the m7r?
I have the m7r and its ok out to about 120-150 yards but thts about it, any further and you cant make out what your looking at, i was very tempted to buy an x7r for solo lamping, hard to go bavk using a torch when your used to a lightforce blitz that lights up the whole field

Its great on the .22 after rabbits but not great for foxing

I have a p7 mounted on my .17 and more things than not I couldn't take a shot because I could only make out eyes and no shape. I think they run out after about 70 yards. Will be looking for something different for next season.
