    HI,

    advice/insight greatly welcomed

Was swimming last night and a better swimmer advised me to swim with the pull buoy between my knees ( rather than higher under my crotch).

after 10 laps like this - definite better upper body workout.

    what is best practice?

Don't know if there is best practice, just harder the lower down it is. Beginners are told to put it as high as possible, easier to hold on to. Harder work on your core to hold it in place when lower. Maybe gives you more sensation of swimming downhill if lower? Just don't use it as a crutch and use it while merrily kicking away.

try it at your ankles. murder on the groin after about 2-300m
