Setting up a club.

    Well lads was just wondering could anyone fill me in on what is involved in setting up a boxing clun in your area??? I live in a rural town and interest is very high in the possibility of a club. Thanks!!! :D

    1st you need a qualified coach, they need gardai vetting and then to apply to the iaba to open a club-will cost about 600 a year and most of this is the boxing insurance cost.

    Your premises has to be accepted by the iaba as suitable to use

    Thanks thats great, and do the IABA provide much assistance in terms of funding for equipment or do the club have to come up with that themselves???

    You come up with it yourself, there is grant schemes but could be years waiting on 1, last was a few months ago.

    Setting up is up to you, when you're set up then you will be able to apply for grants when they come about.
