You need to register for online herd register, before you stop using blue book.

Click the tab "Herd" and then "Bovine Electronic Herd Register".

No need to keep the white cards if registering calves online.

If you have a stillborn calf you should bring the WHITE card with the tagged dead calf to the knackery. You should still register the calf online as stillborn, you'll get a death cert in the post.
I think Online is very handy and quick.

got my ifc/agrinet update yesterday they now have a link to agfood for registering calves that way... as moovan says white cards are for the knackery for a dead calf, just write your herd number and fill in the details on it , saves time for the knackery etc

Is registering the calf straight away crucial or can you wait say 2 weeks and then register the calf?

YOU WON'T get a BVD result from your Lab until the calf is registered .That is what i heard at BVD meeting the other day.
