I had a van in for Doe today and it was discovered that vin/chassis no id marks on window and log book matched fine to reg of van, However no under wheel arch had a plate fitted with the no, on it when removed revealed a different chassis no.The plate fitted had larger digits stamped which grabbed doe guys attention. However van has been tested previously and passed in another test centre.I cant find ant record of the original vin on irish records unless its english originally. I have asked a Garda friend and he says he'll look into it for me.I have been in touch with lad I bought it from whos chasing up garage at present that he bought from.Why would this be? and what can I do about it?
