So what are the potential ramifications for Rugby.

Will SA players still be able to play for English clubs. Will EU type employment laws still apply or will the RFU be able to force restrictions on foreign players that they currently cant .

Ye it is still a fair whack off but still what are peoples opinione

Wow, for a second I thought you had gotten very very lost. ;)

It's an interesting one alright, I can see the lads in the IRB putting some kind of ruling in place before it comes to that hopefully.

In relation to the SA players, I'd say there's possibly some Commonwealth related law that they could dust off to keep things as they are.

If the UK did leave the EU then British players might become non-Kolpak players. That would certainly have an effect on the numbers of British players with clubs outside the UK.

Tbh I haven't followed the news on this much, but that was the first thought that sprang to mind.

I don't think the future of South African rugby players will be a big factor in any referendum!

Still it's all hypothetical, for a referendum to happen the Tories will need to win the 2015 General Election and while I don't sense there is any great love for Labour in Britain my guess is the Tories and Labour will swap places in a couple of years with a Labour/Lib Dem coalition and they'll be very pro Europe.

Brits in France would probably have the same status as the Georgians do now.

Australian and New Zealand players would be fine because of the Commonwealth.
Irish players would be fine because of the agreements that are in place.

I'd assume that other players would have to get work permits like they do now and they used to always do, I don't think soccer clubs ever had a problem getting players to play once they could pass certain criteria.
