Quick one guys....floor insulation and then screed to go down next week...if I have a drylined external wall do I also need perimeter insulation in strips of 25mm depth as well??

did you carry the drylining down to a level below the proposed finished floor level, if so.... why?

How much floor insulation are you putting in? Have you got any thermal breaks in the rising walls like QuinnLites or equivalents?

I would put the perimeter insulation in. It's one of the cheapest portions of insulation you'll be putting in the house. If you don't you'll effectively create a direct bridge between your floor and walls. as you mention screed, I'm guessing you may be putting in UFH? You'll be heating the slab, and that heat will be leaking into the inner leaf, from where it can't return because of your plans to dry-line.

You arch tech should really be advising you on the matter, but to me it's a no-brainer. Put it in.

Ya syd the dryline comes down to where floor insulation ends 150mm of floor heavydaw...so i dont think there is a cold bridge there though might be no harm putting in perimeter

if you pour a wet screed against the plasterboard it WILL swell and eventually erode.

the proper procedure would be to stop the drylining boards short, at finished floor level, and then install perimeter insulation of the same thickness as the drylining board.

how snug is the fit between the base of the plasterboard and the concrete sub floor? perhaps here another low gauge dpm (500 gauge?) would suffice after laying the insulation... depends on your UFH system though.
id carry this dpm up the walls to protect the plasterboard.

i assume youve a decent thickness of insulated plasterboard? 40 - 50 mm?
if you have only a 30 mm board id install more perimeter insulaion.
i also assume your screed will be approx 75mm?

no ufh all rads thus will have 2-3 inch screed depth...the base of plaster board is about 150mm from foundation and am installing 150mm boards as insulation so should be a snug fit....going with 1000 gauge dpm which can be carried up to protect plaster boards but i take your point even a thin layer of perimeter will protect plasterboard to this end. I have installed 50 mil insulated dry line board
