Tax Credits for Dependants

Hey guys, I have a few questions you might be able to help me out with?

I got married last October and just rang the revenue there, got the information on the Assessable Spouse Election Form to fill in.

My wife is a stay at home mother to our two kids. So i can get her tax credits for this year and get it "back dated" to October 2012 when we got married.

My wife has not worked in 5 years, she is a stay at home mother (which is work really!)

My question is can i not claim her tax credits as a dependent for the previous 5 years? Only from when we where married?

    Thanks!

Personal Tax credits are only transferable in a marriage
as is some of the rate band

PAYE Tax credits are not transferable
