Ah, so last year I done a hotel and catering course I enjoyed it, but I'm not very good at it. I worked on work experience in a local restaurant (in the Kitchen) and I was very quick doing tasks in the kitchen, the head chef told me, to keep it up and I will get faster and she said I had good skill but I just needed more practice. I worked for to days a week for 6 weeks. But I don't know if I will improve. :(

I then said I would give the I.T. course a go. Now, sitting here listening to a teacher go on about Writeline, if statements and such, I just can't understand it. Really don't like it.

Ah I don't know, this is just getting me down and I hate to think about it...

You sound in your very early twenties at most with no real clue what you want to do. That's not unusual. What do you enjoy doing?

    Hi Prcrast

I'm 19, 20 in April this is my 2nd year finished school. I really like to cook and I want to go on with it as a career, But I'm afraid if I don't improve in it. I will just be a waste of time. Like that Hotel and catering course, I loved every minute of it. Also, I hear of the odd chef being cut down in hours. which isn't good.

But as far as I'm concerned with computers, I really don't to go on in that as I don't enjoy this course. But I was a fool to waste this year.

Six weeks seems like an eternity at 19 - trust me it's not. If you like cooking, keep at that, reasonable living to be made. Seems like the head chef was already happy with you!

Your head seems screwed on as you're doing something to fall back on (computers) could you not have done something you liked though - outside of cooking.

Stick with thing a bit longer! One of my biggest failings at your age so don't worry - it'll come good in the end.

Ya, I see what your saying. I intended in going on with the computers, I really thought it would be better. But the cooking I really do enjoy, From a young age I loved it as well. :)

Hmmm, what else do I like to do? Eh, I like tipping around with cars and that, doing small bits and pieces. But I think that would be more of a hobby. :)

    Thanks for the replies. :)

Look at doing a FAS course on car mechanics - at worst it'll stand you in good stead for not getting ripped off when buying a car.

    Good luck!
