I would like to take my niece and nephew on holidays with us this year just to the uk, probably by ferry as we will be bringing the car. I have the full support of there parents for this and was wondering what are the steps needed to be taken to bring children not your own out of the country.

My aunt and uncle brought their nephew to Florida (12 years old at the time).

They had to go to garda station with child's parents to have letter authorising them to take him out of country witnessed.
