Thanks for reply. Not especially looking for convertible, but it's a bonus, especially for my five year old son!

Age and price is right, mileage under 40k is ok too. I am in the UK currently and won't be returning to Ireland for a while so VRT not an issue.

Are 320 convertibles generally considered good or bad?

Far from an expert but that looks like a good one and excellent value. If genuine (and it probably is) it looks like it was a weekend car. It's well equipped with a full verifiable service history. The purists would say go for a 6 cylinder one for performance but I'm guessing you are going more for style and comfort. Check there is adeqaute space in the back for the 5 yr old and check the boot space in case you need a big boot.

Thanks guys, very useful advice. Indeed it's style / comfort I'm (or rather, my wife is) going for. Actually I'm more of a Mondeo man. My dad, being English, looks at me scornfully when I talk about buying a German car. I think he's largely joking though.

I must say though, BMWs do seem very luxurious, and you seem to get a lot for your money.

I wonder, has anyone ever heard of BMW convertibles having leaking roofs?

Plastic bumpers tend to colour slightly different to the main bodywork, what with them being sprayed at different points on the production line (so I believe). In saying that however the front bumper in pics 1 + 2 looks to be a whole shade different. It could be because of the flash, but it just doesn't look right.

    1 is probably the flash
2 can be explained from the completely different light source hitting the front of the car compared to the rest (see pic 3) causing a blue cast.

Not saying they're 100% the reasons, and that the car is perfect - but they are reasonable explanations.

I'm not an expert on BMW soft-tops but most convertibles will leak occasionally if rain is very heavy - usually just a drop or two. However, there are sprays you can buy to seal and toughen the canvas so it's usually no big deal.
