Has anyone a wiring diagram for a room wall stat? From what I gather they are 3 wire, do they need a live mains feed?

I am looking to install one in my sitting room, the location has a live feed (previously used for a back boiler pump) or doe all 3 wires run from the timer unit?

With all due respect i think you need to leave it alone.

That's nice, but not what I had asked.

think u just break the live like a switch, a stat with a light on it you have to break the live and the neutral. stat probably come with a diagram anyway

Okay, I do not intend to install it myself but I am wondering am I limited to somewhere with a live feed available or will all wires need to be pulled from the current controller anyway(in which case I would look to place it elsewhere)

you can get manual(dial type) ones that dont need a live feed
You can also get battery powered programmable ones that dont need a live feed, but still let you set different temp set points at different times of the day, or to go one step further you can get these wireless so you can fit the stat where you want it and the receiver where you can easily connect it to the relevant wiring.

MLOC123 - The Danfoss room thermostat type RM230 is basically an on/off bimetal strip thermostat. Its most basic operating mode is to switch a live feed which (eventually) activates the burner. Basic mode is live in to live out.

The RM230 also has an "accelerating resistor" which can be connected -mains neutral feed needed. This resistor heats the bimetal strip on occasion and causes the heat demand to switch off and on as the room temperature approaches the set value. In this mode you have three connections to the thermostat:

Mains neutral in, mains live in from time switch and switched live out to burner or to motorised water zone valve.

If you are not qualified in electrical installation, please get such a person to make any changes to the wiring.
