Well take out the Skoda and VW for low service costs, parts can be pricey. Ford will be more reliable but dearer parts that the GP I imagine. I own that very model GP and have had no issues with at all (just a normal after a period of being not drove) and it's a great car to drive with a plenty of space - not just saying it because I own one. I can't recommend one enough for price, comfort, kit and repair / running costs. I average 40mpg in town and 45+ on motorways so it's gentle on petrol (at the moment it costs me c. €65 to fill the tank for 500+ miles).

PS: I'd recommend all cars really, they are the best choices for a small engined commuter but this is based on my experience. Tax is €358 annually on a 1.2.

The price for the Polo/Fabia has to be taking the piss surely?! Seems mental for a 10 year old car.

Those 3 cylinder engines are absolute crap, I know two people who have them, and have had nothing but trouble.

Wouldnt dream of buying any of them if I am honest but I voted Polo because i had a friends one for a few months and it seemed bearable to live with :-)

Ignore the Polo and Fabia (too expensive), out of the other 2 the Fiesta is the more solid car and will be better to drive, but looks a bit dull compared to the GP.

Contrary to the poster above I would say that Ford are cheaper for servicing/parts etc than Fiat!

ha, the pole results currently looks like we're giving you the finger!

Skoda fabia with the least mileage. Gonna be cheapest to get parts for too.
