When building our house we used Tegral slates which were great. However now we have begun our garage which is large and I was wondering if there was any other good quality product which might not be all out as expensive?

Would any tiles be as good as job and also look well too?

    Would appreciate your views

    Hi.
If you are considering roof tiles be careful with your rafter/ roof const. Slates weigh about 3/4 Tonne per 1000, where roof tiles are very heavy approx 11/2 tonne per 1000. Your roof const needs to be adjusted accordingly.

I think if you check your planning you will find that the Garage Roof finish has to be the same as the House finished granted in your planning approval.
If you wish to change then you will need to go and talk with the council so as you don't compromise yourself.
