While out early this morning for spin this morning on my mtb, my freehub gave me bother.
It was about -3 or so and after reaching top of climb I couldn't drive rear wheel as cassette was spinning without engaging hub.

Wheels are stock wheels on cube attention 2011 with an RM65 freehub.
Bike has seen plenty muck and grime, every other part has got tlc except hubs!

Wheel is back to normal now, i.e. it will drive hub now. Little bit of play with cassette also

    Any ideas

Could be that the freewheel prawls got stuck in the down position when the greese becane less viscous in colder temperature.

That or the freewheel is fecked!

Could be that it was -3 degrees outside! Same thing happened my bike a few years ago..hasn't happened since.

Should be oil rather than grease in there. My guess is there's some moisture in there also which froze. Strip, clean, re-lube will fix it (or you could just wait for the cold to go away)...

+1 on moisture in the freehub. It would take quite a bit colder temperatures to make the oil/grease in there to go solid enough for the paws to stick.
