Would anyone be able to advise where is the best place to book a cruise.
Hoping to go on a cruise for say 5 to 7 days in June. Is it best to book flights and cruise seperate. Or is it best to go in to a travel agents any advice would be much appreciated.

I would advise going to a travel agent who is a Cruise agent and who will also book your flights, if your outward flight is delayed the ship will wait, this is quite common with Med cruises and usually there are other cruise passenger on the same flight, the ships usually know what flight you are on and keep track of arrivals, this will not happen if you book the flight yourself
American Travel in Duke St Dublin are good for US Cruises, Falcon do Med, cruises, most travel agents will have a Cruise Brochure

My Wife and I have done 7 cruises, our first was a 7 day Thompson Cruise of the Mediterranean and I would recommend that for a first-timer, Thomson offer a good experience, their ships are older but the prices are better, prices for shore excursions are steep with all cruise lines and you can usually do much better making your own way ashore, look at the holiday truths cruise website for more information about ships and Ports

Consider going to the departure city on the day before, staying in a cheap three star hotel and chilling out before the cruise. We flew to Copenhagen on the day before our cruise departure, visited the Tivoli Gardens, had a nice dinner and a few beers and the next morning got a taxi to the ship so we were well relaxed boarding instead of being up since 5 a.m. with all the hassle of airports, security, transfers etc. That meant that instead of crashing into our beds as soon as we boarded, we were able to explore the ship and get our bearings before most of the other passengers arrived.

Strongly advise you to read independent reviews (e.g. in the travel section of the major UK newspapers) to suss out the type of people (old/young, all Brits/mixed European) and cuisine you can expect on board any particular cruise line.
