terminating lease-recorded calls ?

I'm terminating a vehicle lease early and spoke to bank on the phone.

They asked me to put the request in writing and to include a sentence 'admitting liability for the balance of the lease.'

I then suggested it's not neccessary for me to include this sentence in my request and they agreed.

They then said that it didn't matter as the phone call was being recorded anyway.

Does it make a difference whether or not you admit liability for a balance when terminating a lease?

And can they use call recordings when they state 'calls are recorded for quality or training purposes'

i'm aware i have a debt but i want to know my rights at the same time

    thanks
