    Hi everyone,
Have been on training last night and peeled off skin from bottom of my big toe. I have been training over 5 years and it never happened before. Just wondering if anyone could give some advise how to speed-up healing process. looks nasty 1 inch circle and its couple of layers, as you would peeled off blister. Nice and soggy.

Mats area in gym where i train since last week is one big wrestling mat, surface is different to mats which i used to before and I spent whole day in office which softened skin. Have no skin condition.

    Thanks for advise.

Get a plaster and suck it up or get training shoes :)

Fastest way for skin to heal is keep it clean and in the open air as much as possible.

If its a proper open wound then try not to get it wet in the shower either, wash it separately. Boil the water in a kettle and then add a load of salt, wash it gently and then dab it dry with something clean.

Don't be a hero, rest it properly.

wash it and then steep in warm salty water or methylated spirits, this will harden the soft skin up.

I had a really bad blister on my toe last year from new football boots. Tried to train with socks on but it only made it far worse.

There are really good plasters you can get for blisters on your big toe ( where I had mine ) it has a pain killer type thing in it as well afaik.

Also got really good cream from the doctor to put under the dressing etc, will find out name when I go home!

Ok I'll put my 'expert' hat on, as a soldier I've had more blisters than most people on this forum have been punched on the nose!.

If you have to work, walk about etc put a dry non-absorbent dressing on the blister and when you're home its socks off, bath in a salty footbath and leave the wound to air dry.

Whenever you get the chance air dry it and you'll be find and able to get about without a dressing in two or three days.

If you absolutely want/need to dress it a lot of lads in work use Blisteaze, available from any pharmacy but personally I don't like them and prefer the dry dressing and air dry.
