i have a 96 primera slx a bangernomics purchase, it has run perfectly, yesterday sunday it done two 60 mile runs, this morning i went to start it, it started for a second then cut out, the engine management light is on, it has spark and it pumps the fuel, what can i try to cut down the number of things that could be wrong, i would prefer not to tow it to the main steeler to have it hooked up to a computer, then spending as much as i have paid for it to get it running.

Check the crankshaft position sensor. Is the security led flashing? Might indicate an issue with your key

Are you sure it's getting enough fuel. Fuel pumps failures are a common problem in these old Nissans.

got it going, i got mad and attacked it, it was pumping fuel, i was turning, it had spark, i checked all the fuses, all ok, i took off the distributer, it was clean, i gave the rotor arm a clean, i pushed it in 95% of the way, i put the distributer cover back and sat that the light had stopped flickering, first turn of the key and it started, thrown down now in the chair wrecked and really tired, happy as hell, also no garage bill to be paid, now thats bangernomics.
