Rover 75 Problem / Pricing

    Hi there,

Was recently looking at a Petrol Rover 75, I'm thinking of buying but came across this problem and wondering if it's anything serious?

The water gauge shows normal when ticking over, but shows cool when driving.

    What would cause the above?

Also, what would be considered a fair price for an 05 Rover 75, Petrol nowadays? :)

Anything odd about the cooling system on a petrol 75 would make me walk away.

Thermostat is shagged, stuck in the open position.

Or removed altogether to mask worse cooling issues.

    €2000 to €2500 for a good one.

How horrible? Some drivers think that 30mpg is appalling.
