core module options problem

    Hi,
When changing my modules for semester 2 today, I opted out of one of my 2 choices for a core module. When I went to go and re register for the option, it came up as full. This now means that I am only registered for 1 option in a core module. There are no errors or warnings for this on my main module page even though you have to register for two options. I have since replaced it with an elective that I wanted to do in its place all along. Will I be able to continue like this so long as my credits aree full? thanks

First off, we need some clarity.

A core module is a module that has to be completed. If it is not, you cannot continue to the next year or graduate.
Options are modules you select in addition to your core.

If you dropped one of the core, you need to speak to the program office and see if they can get you put on.
Depending on the year you are in also applies and there are different requirements per course - so what year and course are you in?

Thanks for the reply. I'm in first year and I'm doing History single subject honours. But for the first year we do very little History and we make up our credits by picking a range of different modules.
The module I'm having difficulty with is information and social computing. Looking at it now, it is actually an option module. However above it, it says I need to pick a minimum of 2 even though I only have the option of picking 1.

Since you are doing the single major your only requirements is this:

Making History, Stalin and Intro to Arts are core. You have to do these.

    Choose 1 out of these:
Making of Modern Europe or Rome to Renaissance

    Choose 1 out of:
Contested Island or Life in the Republic

So long as you have these sorted, what you choose otherwise is fine. Info and Social Computing are all Option modules, but even if they had Core mentioned, it would be irrelevant to you as you are enrolled in a single major and are expected to continue on with it.
