    Hi,
I am wanting to start teaching myself to play piano and I am looking in to buying one to learn on. I am on a pretty tight budget of around €500 including a stand. I have been looking into it and have found two that looks good but I really don't know anything. They are:

    Korg SP-170 S: http://www.thomann.de/ie/korg_sp170_s_bk.htm

    Casio CDP-120: http://www.thomann.de/ie/casio_cdp120.htm

I was also looking around for best prices and can get the Casio, a stand and bench for €439 and the korg, stand, bench and headphones for €493 although the headphones look kind of crap and the bench with the korg doesn't seem good in comparison to the other one.

Anyways, any advice on either of these two pianos or any other one would be much appreciated. I can't go more expensive than this except very slightly. Thanks

not a pianist, but, get a full sized keyboard.

you'll regret it later if you don't

    Hi bobster,
I decided to start learning the piano lat September and have been at it since. It was something I always wanted to do and at the age of 35 took the plunge.
I did not have a piano and thought it might be better to see how I got on before I bought one so I borrowed an old and crap electric keyboard my dad had.
I was glad I did as it did fine for the first few months and I am now going to buy a digital piano in the next few months.

Personally I would advise buying any old second hand keyboard for as cheap as you can and spend the difference on some lessons with a proper piano teacher then in a few months or a year's time see how you are getting on.

After a good bit of research I have settled on this digital piano.
