Mispricing on website

Just went to book a weekend at Trabolgan in Cork, on the website it said April to June was x amount, and July - August was X amount.

I rang to book the last weekend in June and was charged the July rates , this means the weekend will cost about 50% extra than what I was expecting. When I asked why, I was told this is the price...

Is this allowed? The rates on the website were clear, The only grey area is the day I am leaving is the 1st of July, but my stay is 3 nights in June!!!

Well you're defining night as ending at 23:59 which isn't the case, your night really finishes in July so I can see where they're coming from.

This is more of a consumer issues than a travel thread I would think. Could you just not stay the Saturday night?

Night does end at 23:59! 00:01 would be the morning of the 1st July! Anyway, probably not going to go ahead with it out of principle! Already looking somewhere else, yea, I think it is a consumer issue and my guess is that nothing wrong with what they did!

You could certainly get back on to them and try to argue the case.

Hotels sell rooms by "the night". The fact that it runs on to the next morning is incidental. You are booking the night of 30JUN. This is, no matter which way they look at it, a night in June. The June rate should apply.

They can charge you whatever they want - that's up to them. They enter dodgy ground though if they advertise one price as the rate for a certain period but won't sell you that rate. Unless of course they have included "from" in their pricing. Then they can charge what they want.

It's not clear from your original post - are they charging you July rates for the whole weekend or just the Sunday night?

    Hi eoin95,

I closed your thread here in our Travel forum as you already have a thread open on this very topic over in consumer issues.

    Thanks,
