    Hello there,
My Fiance and I are having a solemnist ceremony and would like to have a poem/reading that references God but without being too in your face religious. Any suggestions?

Wherever you go, I shall go.
Wherever you live, so shall I live.
Your people will be my people
And your God will be my God too.
Wherever you die, I will die, and there I will be buried beside you.
We will be together for ever and ever.
And our love will be the gift of our lives.

thats from the book of ruth 1:16 i think it is. we will be using it in our wedding tho i am not particularly religous. it allows god to be mentioned with out being very religous and also give a beautiful sentiment to the life you will be sharing together........ well i think so at least:) hope it helps

If you're having a civil ceremony before the registrar, you can't include any religious elements. But if you're having a separate non-legally-binding ceremony, you can include all the religious elements you like in that.

thanks Guys - do you think there would be any issue having the civil ceremony and then having a blessing after the civil?
