He actually got sacked for calling his boss a "****ing moron" which he later denied swearing.

Its now ok to be a moron but not a ****ing moron.

I think the politically correct translation is "I think you could benefit from some extra training".

From the brief description in that absolute rag of a paper there is no indication given that the tribunal things he did anything wrong at all.

Of course that's almost certainly not what the tribunal said because that paper is a gutter rag of the worst type.

I was hoping the story would continue with something along the lines of "Man who was sacked for calling boss a 'moron' gets job back after being proven correct."

    The judgement is available online:
The company had a comprehensive company handbook including an extensive disciplinary policy. For an isolated incident of the level complained of, termination was a disproportionate sanction in light of the other options available. Punishing the Claimant with dismissal for a possible future infraction where an occupational physician had stated that he was not a danger was likewise disproportionate and in all the circumstances unfair.

Essentially they ruled that procedures weren't followed and the incident wasn't serious enough to warrant sacking.

Figured that. You'd need a good few verbal and written warnings and the like to sack somebody for that reason.

Are you speaking in the capacity of a moderator or a humble poster?

The reason I`m asking this is because I was told by a moderator once that I can disagree with posts but not with moderators.

So I`ll simplify it for you: If you are a moderator stop reading now.
If you are a mere poster you may proceed.

So Dr. Bollocko, I would like you to give your account of what was said in the tribunal. I take it you were there from your statement "Of course that's almost certainly not what the tribunal said because that paper is a gutter rag of the worst type."
I am of feeble mind and easily led, could you please advise me of which newspaper to read in the morning? I don`t think I could decide alone.

On a serious note; it`s absolutely wonderful to see such passion for truth and objectivity - dare I even mention impartiality - on this ever so popular forum. Well Done.
