    Hi
I am in the process of importing a small machine from the usa for my work . The machine is used to pull submersible pumps from wells. I have no idea what customs i will be charged and using the customs calculator wont work as the unit is an unusual item and not mentioned on any of the lists,is there an office i can contact in ireland to get a difinite amount before i purchase, many thanks

As a rule of thumb think ~30% (including the shipping cost in the total price) in additional charges. If they can't classify it they will ask you for the invoice for calculation purposes.
