I've very good neighbours here, one good friend gave me a little one-shot clear to yellow liquid to give calf, Calf Reviver. Another very good lad landed with a tube/paste like a horse dose paste "active calf" he swears by it... Any of you lads ladies use or swear by or dismiss either product ?

I milked all 4 tits of heifer and gave her lots of beastings . Fingers crossed, she still weak calves out at -2 degrees doesn't be long zapping the energy/ will to live out of them ;-(

Keep the calf warm. A straw bedded crate with an infra red bulb over the calf is a good job.

give the calf a good rub with the jacket before you put it on, so its smell will be on the jacket

I gave her that tube Active calf at 4.30, Syringed 0.5ltr of beastings into here at 5.30, she could barely swallow, went back 4 hours later and it was like awaking a little monster she ate the fingers off of me and sucked 2 tits of the heifer and was still chasing her around the shed when i left her:)

Yep something similar to what i got, i still have the empty tube in the shed ill post exact name/company tomorrow but it was very tasty as it got her mouth going and it seemed to work for me anyway.. that coupled with the heifer's own beastings of course!

One I got is called "At Birth" and is made by Natural Stockcare Ltd, Tyne and Wear, UK.

Described as a complementary feeding stuff containing active egg proteins, essential vitamins, chelated trace elements and Oligosaccharides for optimally kick-starting the calf.

30g syringe to be given orally within the first 12 hours of life
