Frame Number Location

    Hi,

I just bought a used Cube Peloton. As far as I know it's the 2011 model. Trouble is, I can't locate the serial/frame number. I've searched the entire frame with sight and touch. Is it possible the number was on a sticker? I presumed it would be etched into the frame as it seems somewhat pointless any other way.

    Any ideas where it is?

    Thanks,
    Lee.

    Bottom bracket shell?

I checked all around the bottom bracket. No sign of it there.

    Is the bike new?

If it's carbon, I can't imagine it being etched in. Probably on a sticker.

The bike is second hand. The frame is aluminium. I've checked to make sure no parts of the frame were filed down and touched up again.

I want to register this bike. Had my last one stolen a few weeks back and never had it registered.

    Cheers for the replies.

My cube peleton has it under the bb. Hard to read with the cable guides. I had to remove them to read my serial number.

Sorry for thread hijack, but where can you register a frame, I'd be interested in doing that.

FWIW the serial nos on all my bikes are below the bottom shell. Even on the carbon.frames it's there, embossed on metal by the looks of it.

Sorry to be a pain lads. Don't want to mess around with cables unless I'm certain it's there. She's just had a tune up.

Yis reckon it's under the black plastic guide?

P.S. I'm not too certain what the protocol is for registering your bike. My plan was to pop into the local police station. Had my 500 quid Trek stolen a few weeks back. Bastards. Never registered it. Taking' all the necessary precautions this time round.

    Cheers.

Do you know any LBS that sell them and you could ask?

The closest I could find is a good ways off from me. I'll chance giving them a ring tomorrow and see how I get on.

    Thanks

That's where my serial number is right enough. The number is visible, but you can't read all digits without taking the cable guide off. Your serial number is a different place, was never put on the bike, or was taken off it.

OP, why don't you put something that will distinguish the fact that it's your. Maybe get some of those number templates and put your phone number on the BB shell? or on a crank arm?

A rep from Cube got back to me. He says it's under the bottom bracket cable guide. I'll get on it later.

Thanks again for the help and suggestions.

just registered my bike with them;)

Picked up my new bike last week, and it was the first thing I did. I'll invest in some decent locks and probably get it insured too... I have a fear of it being stolen, and I'll be working on the northside of the city! :pac:
