Cold Dormer Room

Excuse the pic but my house is similar to the one below. The dormer room is bloody freezing and the one below it isnt as warm the room on the right side of the house. House faces NE which isn't a help either and there's a cold wind that blows down between the garage and the Left side of the house. There is a soffit vent under both sides of the dormer. Just wondering is there any real need for a vent on the dormer window??.
Just trying to find ways of keeping the heat in. :(

The problem with dormers is the walls are so thin that its really hard to get the required insulation depth in place to stop your issues.
Without seeing the actual build its hard to guess at possible solutions, but basically you need to increase the thickness of insulation.
The need to ventilate a room is part of the building regs, but in the short term as a stopgap measure you could lay some mineral wool over the vents to stop drafts.

The pic is the stamp of my house. Exact same design.

Take the plasterboard down, fir-out the studs/ rafters, install mesh or some form of restraint to hold insulation, install min 300mm insulation, ensuring 50 air cavity in side roofing felt with clear vents at eaves & ridge, install vapour barrier taped and sealed to ideally the concrete block wall, seal & tape all penetrations, install plasterboard skim finish

Could I just kit out the room with that kingspan stuff (50mm) ie place over the existing drywall? Would that work?

Not only is the dormer room freezing but the room directly below it is colder. I wonder if they missed out on the insulation in the roof area above the bottom room.

To check this I presume I need to remove the plasterboard under the window of the dormer room. I'll send on the pics next.

Do you know if there is any insulation in that big side wall? You can do a quick check (it might give you an idea) by looking into the electric meter box, if there is insulation you might be able to see it round the edges.
