hi all, looking for help buying a new radio/cd player for the kitchen. i really want one that when you land on the station, it tells you what the station is, for example Q102 or NEWSTALK comes up in the display. thought they all did this, have tried two different ones and what came up was 102.2 or 106 for those respective radio stations. was wondering am i doing something wrong or is there a name for a radio that will identify the stations. very grateful for your suggestions.:o

What you want is RDS, practically all car radios these days have it but much less common on portables.

Roberts do portable FM radios with RDS, however you need to be in a strong reception area as while you may get a good FM signal, it may not guarantee that the RDS signal is as strong, so the display may not work correctly. What you really need is an Internet radio, which will display station name, station info, scrolling text etc, and will get you every Irish station there is and thousands from around the world, including all the BBC stations etc.
