most of the apprenticeships start in the summer.
    The following currently have apprenticeships
Dublin Aerospace 2 year A licence
    Ryanair 2 year A licence
Aer lingus 4 year B licence
City Jet 4 year B licence
    Shannon Aerospace

Carlow It and DIT have aviation Courses if you are interested.
The problem with doing the college courses is a lack of hanger experience.

It is very difficult to become a Aircraft Maintenance trainee/ apprentice as a very large quantity of people apply to a very small amount of places.
For example City, over 1000 people applied 4 were taken on.

    look at this thread

keep looking at the companies websites who I listed.
As I said most of them start in the summer or Autumn.

Another thing if your are thinking about becoming an aircraft maintenance engineer do a colour vision test, about 1 in 12 are affected by this and many go through their live with out knowing. It can only effect certain people for a few shades of red or green.

and if i was effected by this , would that mean i couldnt be an aircraft maintenance engineer ?

if you have difficulty seeing colours you will never be a maintenance engineer

Just in relation to applying; the advertisements normally appear from April on. Keep an eye on the recruitment sections of the companies' websites. Keep checking this forum too, threads will pop up once the positions are advertised.
This is the test that's used to check your colour vision, if you can pass this you're ok to become a mech!
    Best of luck.
