    hi guys i am just looking for some help please. i am looking for a finish for teak and aroca wood. i dont want to use teak oil..any other suggestions? also what would b a suitable adhesive for these timbers. thanks in advance.

    I use a lot of teak and iroko for the boats and even though they are oily woods you can varnish them by adding 10% of thinners to the first coat. I use epoxy resin to glue them.

    The oils in teak are supposed to prevent glue adhering. Buy some cheap thinners and wipe the joint first. I've found polyurethane glue totally reliable with these woods, although not below 5 degrees c.
    Beware that some people call Iroko 'teak' although its a completely different species. Real teak ( if you can find it ) is more expensive than walnut. !
