24 mech timer has stopped. It appears to have the standard backplate, which as 6 pins pushing against the terminals...

I really really want together the standard mech timer again. It is fort henhouse of an aged person and they have gotten so used to it that I can't possibly suggest a digital replacement. Problem is I can only find digital replacements.

Anyone know of a standard replacement which is mechanical.. Yes I know I am probably losing Luton reliability by sticking with mech, but you know she understands it so wants the same.

Fit a apt timer. Costs about 40 euro and lasts years

Have replaced a few apts already after a few years.... Anyhow I don't think apt is a plug in replacement... Previous spark has left no cable slack for me to wire in a replacement.
I was hoping to make this a quick replacement.

Could you post a photo of the timer and the backplate

I actually got a nice Sunvic RF Room Thermostat TLX RFP thermostatic timer installed in the house today.. ( in parallel to the busted timer).. After you program it once, all of its functions are great and really logical

But the training course for the end user left me in doubts if she would be able to operate it. So its back on to the interweb to find a true replacement for the original timer to leave her happy.... The experience is really turning me off a digital programmer because the original has a nice clear display where she can see whats on and whats off and also with a finger "push" in a another hour if she needs.

It looks identical to this but is unbranded

This PDF below has a a picture of the standard backplate

UK plumbing sites have it about 33 pounds, I might go with that... Anyone know of a walk in stockist in dublin? Actually will go with the dual channel one (qm2) as I see another use where I can give them the option to switch to a room thermostat controlled boiler for overnight use..

Its actually interesting that the timer part of these switches corresponds to a grosslin fm1 timer module (http://docs-europe.electrocomponents.com/webdocs/05c1/0900766b805c1d0e.pdf) which looks a lot like a lot of those plug in timers.... I am wondering if bought one of those timers and bust it open would it have the exact pin compatible timer module inside?
