its worth like 5% if you pass the year, the worst they'll make you do is redo the homework you failed

I know people who never attempted any of the homework and still passed the year. It's only if you fail labs you automatically fail the year.

If you repeat a year, you are not entitled to the grant and must pay the €1600 repeat fee regardless of how many subjects you're repeating.

I'm not sure if it has just come in this year but in some of the 1st year science modules this year you can't pass the year if you don't pass the CA. Even if you get 100% on each written exam, if you fail the CA you won't pass the module. You probably will still be able to pass with next semester's CA anyways depending on how close to passing the CA you were. That's the case with Applied Maths this year anyways.

It depends from course to course but in general you just need to pass the CA/exam overall together and if there is a lab you probably need to pass that too. A lot of the time you must pass the exam (without taking into account CA/labs) too.

Go see the lecturer. They're generally understanding. They'll probably make you do it again, or give you a project or something like that. Don't get too worried til you talk to them about it.

Chemistry homework is worth 10% of the year. You can go back to the beginning and catch up on what you missed, you don't have to keep to the deadline that they set each week although it's advisable that you do. As long as you start working at it now then you should be fine.
