Have to decide between 2010 astra 1.7 cdti only 15,000 miles full spec 14k and 2010 golf tdi 1.6 14,500 44,000 miles. Both are 5door hatchback. Confused..any advice welcome

    Which do you prefer?

Would imagine the golf would be a better investment resale wise, have you driven either of them?

    What bhp is the astra?

Can you pick anything, and thats what you've narrowed your choice to?

Theres nicer cars in the class.

I have driven both, and I have to say though I love volkswagen and most of my previous cars and my current one being made by volkswagen, I found the Astra a more comfortable car to drive even though the electric handbrake is a nuisance to use in my opinion. Both are similar performance and fuel wise but the Golf holds a better resale value

Isnt the 2 litre golf engine far more reliable than the 1.6

I'd go for the astra nicer car imo. I have a 1.3cdti astra and love it. The 1.7 is even nicer. It's also very reliable.
