Hi all, as the thread suggest - if you were to have a lucky 15, 31, 63, Super heinz, or Goliath on the ante-post markets for the upcoming season centrepiece who would you include:

BTW i do not bet ante-post generally!

Here would be my idea of a festival megatron - E/W of course :D:

    Supreme novices: Dodging bullets 12/1
    Champion Hurdle: Grandeuet 7/1
    RSA: Dynaste 5/2
    World Hurdle: Monksland 8/1
Gold cup: Bobs Worth (NAP) 3/1
    Champion bumper: Regal encore 14/1
    Ryanair: first Lieutenant 8/1
    Triumph hurdle: Blood Cotil 11/1

I'd do an each way accumulator

    Dodging bullets 14-1
    First lieutenant 10-1
    Champion court/sizing Europe 10-1
...need to fill in something else here. Maybe zarkandar might scrape a place

I'm focussing more on getting value at 3 places as opposed to winning..if they win its some ridiculous turnaround like 400k with another horse if its 1/4 of the price ill let you do the maths..thinks its over a grand anyway when you do 10ew

    I

    Dodging Bullets 10/1 - Supreme
    Kashmir Peak 16/1 - Triumph
Son Of Flicka 33/1 - Coral Cup
Moyle Park 25/1 - Champion Bumper

Very dodgy as the last two may not even run in those races but Megatrons are meant to have an element of the ridiculous about them!

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind. Its just a case of getting the race he turns up at right!

Really like this horse. Look how easy he won on it's debut over hurdles, I backed him the last day he was about to win a Grade 1 on his second hurdling start but fell at the last.

Like the RSA the best horse for the future doesn't necessarily win the Triumph, plenty of very good horses get beat because they haven't matured to get up the hill. Being a son of Dylan Thomas who has been racing on soft and heavy ground since a two year old I could definitely see him being more forward than most

After hitting the front he was all over the place that day (I had backed him also). You just knew something bad was about to happen and I'm not convinced he had Megalypos(?) beat anyway. I am relying on memory though.

Agree with your general comments about the Triumph though.

Apparently heat was found in his tendon last week and he is unlikely to run at Cheltenham unless they can get a prep run into him. Due for a scan soon enough. That was taken off Twitter and is making its way around a lot of forums at the moment but no official word and no slide in the market on Betfair. Could be completely made up but just a word of warning for those contemplating backing him now.

^^^ Pissed off I missed the 16's available on at fishers cross before today's race. The Albert Bartlett is the likely race at the festival now.

Surely ye are covering these EW doubles, trebles, accums with EW ED ?

It would be a shame to have a mix of winners and places and not maximise profit ?

Very happy with my anti post portfolio. Disappointed with rocky creek not making an appearance, but other then that it's looking well.

    Triumph - Our Connor 5/
Bumper - Blackmail 12/1 Le Vent DAntan 9/1
Martin Pipe - Bonisland 14/1 Martin Pipe

Some nice prices there, particularly on Pont Alexandre, First Lieutenant and Reve De Sivola. Looks like you're gonna get lucky with the ground for the latter too.

Have an accumulator ofHurricane Fly, Quevaga, Simonsig and Sprinter Sacre. It works out at nearly 8.5/1. The 2 I'm doubtful of are HF and Quevaga, reckon the other 2 should win handy enough.

I've an accumulator of Simonsig, Quevega, Sprinter Sacre and Bob's Worth, works out at just over 12/1

If the first 3 come up on Tuesday and Wednesday I'll have a sleepless night Thursday.

    Can't wait!

I've a treble that I did at Christmas pays 4/1 with Simonsig, Quevega & Sprinter Sacre think it would only pay 2/1 now.

Got out of jail with a super Friday. A great way to finish off the festival with a winner in the last. Lessons for next year, not getting involved with the bumper anymore. Not going to bother second guessing what horses are going to run or get into the handicaps.

Well done to paddymayoman, dirkmeister and prettyboy81. Very nice when those accumulator's come off.
