What year/budget are we talking? If it was brand new i'd go Golf,if it was 2007/08 ish i'd go Focus,if it was 10 years old i'd go golf again.

    Weren't you looking at passats?

I'd probably have the golf 1.9 out of those 3. But it'd all come down to money. A Lot of cash between an 08 focus and A3 for example.

I probably would go for something not on the list to be fair.

Golf. I can't imagine why anyone would choose the Ford all other things being equal.

Long story but Yes i did buy it paid cash for it he gave me log book to send off got home and realised it was fake.reported to garda they confirmed it was a stolen car and cloned to a different car so it was confiscated! Basically im out of pocket unless garda can find this guy which i doubt
Before anyone says anything, i know i was STUPID to buh with cash. I did to cartell check and only thing that stood out was number of owners

    What's the budget?

Sorry to hear about the passat

To be fair man, I don't think you can blame the fact that it was a Passat. Bad experience I know, but you can probably get a nicer Passat than Golf at the same price point. But if you're completely turned off them then fair enough.

Instead of golf or a3, why not a leon if a passats a bit pipe and slippers?

Think the leon is the best looking out of that vag class, and usefully cheaper than an a3. Dont know if your looking petrol or diesel. (edit just read title d'oh!)
