Hi Guys. So basically ive got a new hd Samsung tv which is Saorview ready. I hooked up the arial cable to the tv and tuned into the channels.

Now the problem is that the reception im getting is absolutely horrible. i can see clear for about a minute and then suddenly its like a rainbow on the screen and then back to normal, a few more glitches and then totally scrambled then back to normal for a minute or two and the cycle repeats. its not only the picture but the sound aswell.

any idea on how to fix this problem guys. By the way we have an arial on the roof so theres none indoors :)

    would be much appreciated!

The aerial on the roof mightn't be the right kind, or pointed at the right transmitter, or the condition of the aerial & associated cables etc. mightn't be what it could be.

For a start, take a look at the Saorview coverage checker & see what it says about your location.

You really need to try another Saorview device plugged into the same aerial.
Do you have a signal strength/quality indicator in the menu?

OP, you omitted one critical fact - did you have a good signal with your previous TV?

Maybe the TV is finding a weak signal and selecting that instead of scanning the entire spectrum. Roughly where do you live and what direction is the aerial pointing?
