    Hello,
I'm currently studying a (BA) in Social Care and next year we may go on work placement, however we must have our places chosen pretty soon. I'm still unsure however to what areas/centre etc i should be considering. Where exactly would be an appropriate place to work, please help?? Thanks :)

What areas do you want to go into in social care? Pick somewhere you'd like to get a job in the future because it'll help if you've done a placement there! I'd recommend barnardos it focus!

Sacred heart centre in lady lane or St martins out by kilchon, sacred heart the children would have moderate to severe disabilities and St martins is more of a school for kids with mild to moderate disabilities, definitely do one of them this year then I went to sacred heart into first year and worked there that summer and was offered full-time there but after two placements in disabilities I decided it wasn't for me! If I could go back I'd try barnardos or focus because they are probably two of the better companies, if you want to secure a job and get part time work whilst in college you could do a residential placement, it is extremely tough though so I'd only do a placement in one if its an area you would work in!
