99 Nissan Micra Air vent diagram?

    Hi Guys

The old 99 Micra GX is just not heating. The fan failed a while ago so I put in a new one.

Problem is and has been for a long time (even before the old fan failed) , that the air coming from the vents is practically non existant. The fan is blowing strong (you can hear it at all speeds) but I have to wipe the windows constantly, and if you put your hands over any of the vents no matter what the setting, you can't feel any airflow whatsoever.

Just wondering if anyone has any diagrams of the air vent system or if you could point me in the right direction as far as troubleshooting this problem.
I'm fairly handy, but I know f**k all about cars...

    John

Not 100% on the micra have had many but never looked for it.

I had a focus recently and exact same problem the fan was very noisey but hardly any air, changed it and the air was something else.

Thanks Miller for the quick replys. I'm googling the sh*te out of it, I've read in some places that you actually have to cut plastic out of the car to find it

Still don't know where though

Ah well, I'll find it eventually and post back here if / when i do...

As has been said its your pollen filter clogged so no air can get through. The filter is behind the glove box, open the glove box and reach behind it at the bottom and at each side is a clip you pull out, releasing the glove box.

Here is a thread on the Micra Sports Club (Micra Sports Club?? :D) on how to do it

Thanks a million lads, managed it (with a soldering iron with a blade attachment, stanley knife would probably do the job too) and the filter was solid with dirt. Took it out but haven't replaced it yet (no money :().

The heaters are blowing like never before (wonder if the missus has one of those pollen filters :D )

Anyway, the above link works on the old 99 micras, hope it helps someone else...

Nearly 14 years of gunk in that it's amazing to see as these are part of a car service but we are nearly all let down and they very rarely are changed.
Well done on getting it out the filters themselves are not expensive any motor factors will have.

I finally got around to changing the ventilation filter on a 2000 Micra K11 earlier today. I'd removed the glovebox and was thinking that I'd have to cut out the part of the fascia blocking the filter. The Haynes manual was unclear (said that a special Nissan service replacement panel and fixings were needed) and I was reluctant to take such a drastic step but my other half found this thread and reassured me that I was on the right track. Thanks to renofan for the link to http://www.micra.org.uk/threads/micra-k11-pollen-filter-replacement-how.41913/ as we found the pictures posted by Comvec to be helpful.

I used a junior hack-saw to cut only the left hand serrations and that was enough to be able to bend it forwards enough to remove the filter. The biggest issue was that the cable for the recirculation flap was in the way of the filter. I was just barely able to pull it downwards enough to slide out the - very dirty - filter. After replacing the filter, I simply re-attached the glove box (no need for a special Nissan service replacement panel).
