    Hi,
Does anyone know if there is an issue with Windows 8 and Abode Flash Player? I have a new laptop and when I went to listen to the archive of a radio station on their website I was told I needed Flash Player. When I did a Google search to download it, I was directed to a troubleshooting page regarding Windows 8 and Flash player. Does anyone know what this is about? How do I download Flash player?

    Thanks

    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Try here. Download the Flash player and install it. After that you should be fine. (It's free btw)

Or use Google Chrome as you're web browser and that has the Flash Player plug in already installed and ready to use.

The 'issue' relates to how content is run in Internet Explore 10 in 'app mode'. Long story short the app whitelists what flash content can and cannot run. There are probably more than a couple reasons for this (closing security loopholes (and pornography?), etc) The desktop mode doesn't do this.

If you are using a web browser in standard 'desktop' mode, you're fine, and in fact wont even encounter the support page on adobe.com

Hi thanks for that. Working in "desktop" mode solved the problem.
    Thanks again.
