Is your exhaust on the left or the right??

Mines on the right, as most Toyotas seem to be.

I've noticed that most cars coming from left hand drive counties seem to be on the right; and most from left hand countries are on the left?? Is this right??

Mines on the side opposite the petrol tank, which I think is probably good design!!

Is you exhaust on the left or the right? 40 votes

I may as well be the first to say it. What about people with twin exhausts or centre exit exhausts?

    [/pedantic] ;)

Probably so that the exhaust exits as far away as possible from pedestrians.

Proper cars can fumigate them from either side :D

If the fuel cap is on the opposite side to the exhaust by design and most cars have the exhaust on the left perhaps that accounts for my perception that is is more difficult to get a free fuel pump at the petrol station on the same side as the fuel cap.

I don't know about you Gary, but I'm personally already looking forward to the sequel... 'Which side is your petrol cap on?'

Or to complete the trilogy, 'Which way do your wipers go?'

Followed by "what side is your indicator stalk on" and "which way do your wheels turn"

I did just get a set of Bosch wipers, to replace the generics that were on the car, and WOW, what a difference they make!!! The car even seems to handle better!

Japanese cars tend to have the exhaust on the right and fuel filler on the left except Subaru who have it the opposite way for some reason.

How do you vote if your exhaust has just fallen off?
