    Hi. Could people suggest a couple of easy credit cards to apply for?

    Their isnt an easy one. They all use different criteria to decide to give you one or not. It depends on a lot of factors.

    If you wanted a visa debit card instead, aib, ulster bank, boi will give you one on opening an account.

    I recently got one from Tesco bank very easily, just applied online with a 3k limit, having said that, my credit rating which I'm sure they checked is excellent

    just get a visa debit.
    Visa Debit all the way!
    I got rid of my credit card last July when I got my visa debit.
    No more monthly bill!

    I'm all for Visa Debit and it has replaced the credit card in most situations, but I have had trouble in two areas:

    1) the "hold" for hotel room security / room service etc

    2) the "hold" when hiring a car.

    I don't think we can write off credit cards just yet unfortunately.
