hello everyone, I got my car serviced last night and i noticed this morning that the oil level was about 1 cm over the full mark on the dip stick, I am just a bit worried is this too high or is it fine. I know if the oil is too high it can cause major problems so if anyone can clarify this would be great. Thanks
    Car is 1990 Toyota Corolla.

Personally I'd prefer if it was no higher than the max mark, as it could lead to problems, go back to the servicer and get the to drain some off for peace of mind.

Probably no smokier than most 1990 corollas i see about ;)

Go back and get it drained, no biggie, father in law once filled to top of crankcase, drove up to me and said it was a 'bit smokey'.......drained it, drove it like it was stolen for a day, passed nct a few weeks later, a lucky man though. At least theres no cat to feck up with smoke.

While it's not ideal, on a 1990 Corolla I wouldn't be too concerned about a 1cm overfill. Unlike modern cars there is no cat to get damaged. Also it probably uses a certain amount of oil anyway so won't stay at that level for long :pac:

Fully agree with George. It'll be fine and wont be long till it's at the max mark in any case.

The vvti engines are the oil burners, but yours isn't one of them. A tiny bit above the max mark is generally OK but a full cm above it may be too much. If you plan on keeping the car for the next while, get it down below the max mark.
