octavia 1.9 tdi wont keep running

    Hi i have a octavia 1.9 tdi 07 280000 km, it cut out last week went to limp home mode it was low on diesel, now it will start up and run for a while then die. have done injectors, throttle flap, egr valve. got everything ultrasonic cleaned,still the same, now i put 3 gallons of fuel in this morning she ran a little better, then died again, last time she ran for ten min, eml on, power steering light on, and when i rev car oil pressure light comes on ,plenty of oil in her, can anyone help.

    could be million and one reason to guess, until youll bring it to garage for diagnostics, then might will find exact problem. try george dalton here, he is good with german cars.

    Had it on diagnostic told me throttle flap, changed that also no joy.

    EML is on? What is the code?

    Have seen these seize the turbo which causes your symptoms, easy to check.

    yea... id say, if youll put 5 liters diesel, probably youll be able drive another 50 - 60 miles, putting fuel in car, usually helps a lot, but it cost money though :pac:

    You need to get the car diagnosed by a competent garage IMO. You have most likely already spent more money on guesses than they would have charged you to diagnose it correctly.

    I don't know about the Octavia's but some cars go into limp mode if very low on fuel. I believe some Pug HDi's do this.

    OP, as advised, code scan is required before proceeding any further.

    Just an update cleaned the diesel particulate filter , threw in diptane, and she is on the button lots more power.

    A 2007 1.9TDI Octavia doesn't have a particulate filter. It must have been the catalytic converter you cleaned.
